HYCRT8S-Y2 Star Delta Starter Time Relay Features
Adjustable time delay - Time relays allow adjusting the time delay between transitioning the motor from star to delta connection. This delay is usually set between 0.1s-10min for the motor to ramp up to speed before switching.
Contact configuration - Time relays used for star-delta starting have two sets of contacts - one for star connection and one for delta. The relay switches between these two contacts after the preset time delay.
Rating - Time relays are rated for the motor starting current and voltage to handle the inrush current during start up. Higher horsepower motors require relays with higher current ratings.
